Abby and I met our freshman year in college, and while we were so different from each other, we ended up being inseparable. We kept in contact over the years, but it became more and more sporadic. Then Facebook came along, which helps to make long distance friendships feel closer. At the same time in 2013, we were both undergoing major, traumatic events in our lives. I finally know how gutting her situation was after reading her memoir, Love Him Anyway.I enjoyed seeing Wyatt’s constant smile and updates on his Facebook page, Wyatt’s Fight Against TM. I had heard of transverse myelitis, but didn’t know much about it. After reading this book, I am truly astonished at all that Abby, Wyatt, and her family has been through. Wyatt is an inspiration and such a trooper. He has been through so much, but never feels sorry for himself. Wyatt exudes happiness and joy in all he does, and does not put limitations on what he can and cannot do. I look forward to seeing all the amazing things he will accomplish in his life!
I am in awe of Abby after reading this book. My heart broke for her as I read about her initial devastation to Wyatt’s diagnosis. I wished I could have been there for her, to be a support through her life’s toughest challenge. But then my heart soared as I read about her acceptance of Wyatt’s disease, how her faith got her through these hardships, and how she came to grips with her family’s “new normal”. Abby is candid and honest as she tells about how she juggled (sometimes gracefully, sometimes not-so gracefully) marriage, three children, and TM. Meanwhile, her love for Jason, Jay, Austin and Wyatt shines through the pages.
Abby, thank you for sharing your story with the world. Not only will it help others who are struggling with TM or a special needs child, but it is an inspirational read for anyone who is dealing with obstacles in their life.

Such an amazing chronicle of one family's journey. I found myself searching Wyatt's Facebook page for a video referenced in the book and realized how deeply I had fallen into this book. Amazingly written by an amazing mom about an even more amazing little boy and His amazing love. I downloaded it on my kindle and preordered the paper back for my mother and grandmother
This family has found joy and God's peace in the dark times of the paralysis of their youngest son and the journey and challenges of living day by day.
No matter the size or magnitude of your struggles, you fill find peace and hope in Abby's words. Every minute is relatable and honest and rewarding. This book is not about coming back from a tragedy but being inspired to be the best version of you, every day and in every situation.
As a patient of TM of only a year 1/2016 I was inspired by Wyatt and his family. This story is not about a child with a rare disease that can attack anyone at any age. This story is about faith, hope and love through triumph it heals all. I have learned so much by Wyatt and the power of faith, family and love. I can do this if Wyatt can do this. TM attack paralyzed T-6-T-11. Thank you
To tell your family story and interweave stories from the Bible takes talent. I couldn't help but feel compassion and empathy while reading. Also have your tissues ready! As a member of the Philadelphia Shriners Hospital it brings me great pride to know how much our hospital and staff impacts and changes the lives of so many. We are lucky to be part of Wyatt and the Banks family lives. Congratulations on a well written book. It is a must read!
An inspiring account of the author's faith through more trials than any one family should have. This book tells the story of a sweet child diagnosed with Transverse Myelitis, and his and his family's, loss, grief, strength, faith, and love.
